If you’ve wandered around this website a bit or chatted with Wayne about his paintings, you likely know that many of his pieces are done on Fabriano watercolour paper. This paper has been handmade in the town of Fabriano, Italy, for 750 years.
Each year in Fabriano, InArte Associazione Culturale and the International Watercolor Society (Italy) hold a prestigious international artistic exhibition called FabrianoInAcquarello (“Fabriano in Watercolour”), dedicated to watercolour painting. For four weeks, the historic town of Fabriano is transformed into an international art gallery, with exhibitions throughout the town in museums, libraries, opera houses, and churches.
Well, we have exciting news. Wayne has been invited to attend and show a piece at FabrianoInAcquarello 2015 in April/May of next year. Only fifteen watercolourists from Canada are invited to this event, among renowned artists from North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Wayne and Sandy will be travelling to Italy for the three-day artists’ event in late April 2015, which will include workshops, networking events, shows, and guided tours of Fabriano and its museums.
We can't make any promises, but it looks like there could be some new Italian-themed paintings in the shop next spring!
